What do the Poles do when it’s warm?

It’s been a bit warm here lately with daily highs in the low- to mid-80s. That's a bit warm for this time of year, so what do the Poles do in this kind of weather? They go to the beach ~ it’s only 12 miles away and it’s wide and sandy. Or they go to the mall. Or they hang out in their backyards.

The colorful, fancy screens, seen in the photo above, are very useful. First, the screens allow someone to “stake out” their territory, and second, they help block the wind. Because it’s always windy in northern Poland. And they just look fun.

Starka? What is that?

Today’s post isn’t about the beach (sorry) but rather, it’s about adding some “spirits” to Spirited Travelers. One of the our goals when traveling is to check out the local wine and whiskeys. This post is about searching for Polish whiskey and what we found instead:
